It’s not long now till Jim and I set off from California for Hawaii. For all those following us from Australia we are scheduled to depart at approximately 12:00am AEST. This leg of our journey is the longest where we will travel 2055 Nautical Miles / 3805 kms in roughly 14.5 hours across The Pacific with nothing but blue seas below us and no land in sight till we arrive in Hawaii.
We now have another camera on board thanks to Robert Penfold and Richard Moran from Channel 9 who were filming one of our test flights and I wanted to say a big thank you to them both for sharing their camera with us. I’m sure we’ll capture some great footage. We’ll be on Channel 9 News at 6pm AEST tonight, Saturday 9th April.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped us get to this point, the support we have received has been amazing and we hope this trip will encourage people to give what they can to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
